What called you to become a nurse?

I got inspired to go to nursing school by learning that being a nurse is a role where people are really asking for your help because they are sick and need the extra hand to recover. Being a nurse is a great way to express your compassion for your community for the world, and for the future that will come. I initially also was interested in nursing because I am an esthetician and I love to care for a person esthetic. But I realized that it does not totally fulfill me with joy as much as helping people that are sick or praying to see their future generation grow.

Where did you attend your schooling?

Yes I did attend a regular four year traditional nursing program at western Connecticut state university along with Norwalk community college for some prerequisite.

Where did you attend your clinicals and what rotations did you complete so far?

I started my clinicals in January 2020 with the begging of the pandemic and it was a nursing home in Danbury, the following semester was on a regular med surg floor and The operating room for four months, my third semester was at Norwalk hospital for 2 months administering covid shots and the remaining 2 semester where at Waterbury hospital in icu and telemetry.the forth semester was in labor and delivery at Danbury hospital and pediatric in Yale new Haven. To conclude my wonder program I am doing my practicum at Stamford hospital in the icu.

What has been your favorite area in clinicals?

I have enjoyed immensely labor and delivery along with telemetry.

What has been your most memorable moment in clinicals?

Assist a c-section and in the Operating room while a pacemakers was being placed.

What are you most looking forward to when you work on the floor as a nurse after graduation?

Not completely sure since I have enjoyed most of my rotations.

What advice would you give to nursing students just starting out?

I would advice to one never give up, study hard do not let anything side track you and mostly take care of you first.
